OVERALL OBJECTIVE: Functioning as a member of a Multi-Disciplinary Team and working closely with the staff Occupational and Physical Therapists, the Activity Coordinator plans, coordinates, supervises and implements an activity and social program for frail elderly and functionally impaired adults in an integrated program setting of Adult Day Health Care and Alzheimer’s Day Care Resource Center.
Requirements A. Two years experience in a social or recreational program within the past five years, one year of which was full-time employment in a patient activities program in a health care setting, or a program dedicated to frail seniors, and meet the following educational requirements: 1. Possess a bachelor's degree in occupational therapy, music therapy, dance therapy, art therapy, recreational therapy, performance therapy, --or-- 2. Be a certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA) and receive regular consultation from the staff occupational therapist, as directed by the Program Director, --or-- 3. Have completed a minimum of 36 hours of training for a certificate as an Activity Coordinator and receive regular consultation from the staff occupational therapist, as directed by the Program Director.
B Proficient in Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, Power Point, as well as internal databases, Internet and research methods. C. Must write and speak English well. (A language test will be a component of the application.) D. Must be a leader willing to take responsibility for the planning, successful execution and evaluation of programs. E.
